Description
AMS 5659 15-5PH Round Bars
AMS 5659 15-5PH is a CRS (Corrosion Resistant Steel) and Precipitation Hardening Alloy exhibiting High Strength and Hardness. 15-5PH Alloy is a variant of the older 17-4PH and 15-5PH was designed to have greater toughness than UNS S17400, especially in the through thickness (short transverse) direction. Alloy 15-5PH is used in applications that require high transverse strength and toughness such as Engine Parts, Aircraft Components, Nuclear Reactor Components etc.
15-5PH Stainless Steel is a Martensitic Precipitation Hardening Stainless Steel with approximately 15% Chromium and 5% Nickel. It has high strength, high hardness, and excellent corrosion resistance. Strength can be further increased by a single low temperature heat treatment. Compared to 17-4PH, it offers better transverse toughness and ductility; better mechanical properties in larger cross-sections, and better forgeability. It is readily weldable. It can be machined in any of the several Thermal Conditions available to this grade.
Textron Steel and Alloys is one of the Distributors / Suppliers / Stockist of 15-5PH Stainless Steel available in several forms including stainless steel round bar, flat bar, and square bar as well as stainless steel plate, sheet, block, and billet.
15-5PH Stainless Steel AMS 5659 is used in a variety of industries including: Aerospace, Chemical, Food Processing, General Metal Working, Paper Industries & Petrochemical.
BÖHLER N701 is a high quality, vacuum remelted, corrosion resistant steel for aerospace applications in the form of bars for machining up to 200 mm in diameter. It is a martensitic, precipitation hardenable chromium-nickel-copper steel with high strength and toughness.
These products are typically used for parts that require corrosion resistance, high strength up to 600°F, and exhibit good toughness & strength in the transverse direction of large dimensions. However, use is not limited to such applications.
15Cr-5Ni is a martensitic precipitation hardening stainless steel offering high strength and hardness along with excellent corrosion resistance.
