AMS 5629 13-8Mo Round Bars
AMS 5629 13-8Mo is a Stainless Steel Alloy is a Martensitic Precipitation Hardening Steel that has Excellent Strength, High Hardness, Superior Toughness.
PH13-8Mo is a Martensitic Precipitation Hardening Stainless Steel. This alloy is double melted in a Vacuum Induction Furnace (VIM) followed by Consumable Electrode Vacuum Melt (CEVM or VAR); or in some cases, 2nd melt is by Electroslag Remelting (ESR) as specified by consumer. It exhibits excellent strength, high hardness, superior toughness, and good corrosion resistance. Good transverse toughness properties are achieved by tight chemical composition control, low carbon content, and vacuum melting. 13-8PH steel provides a wide range of properties through a single precipitation hardening heat treatment. It is weldable; inert gas shielding with Helium is preferred. Corrosion resistance is similar to 304 Stainless, with greatest resistance in the fully hardened conditions.

Compared to other ferrous-base materials alloy 13-8Mo Stainless Steel offers a high level of useful mechanical properties under severe environmental conditions.
PH13-8Mo Stainless Steel uses : Aerospace components, landing gear, nuclear reactor components, petrochemical industry, injection molding equipment etc. Alloy 13-8 Stainless Steel in the annealed condition can be strengthened further by relatively low temperature heat treatment.
BÖHLER N709 is a corrosion-resistant steel in the form of bars, wire, forgings or least distance between parallel sides in the solution heat treated condition and stock of any size for forging. It is a martensitic precipitation hardenable chromium-nickel-molydenum-aluminium steel possessing high strength and toughness. These products have been used typically for parts requiring corrosion resistance, stress-corrosion resistance and high strength up to 600 °F (316 °C) with good ductility and strength in the transverse direction in large section sizes, but usage is not limited to such applications.
13-8 Mo VIM-VAR steel is a precipitation hardening martensitic stainless steel offering excellent fracture toughness and transverse mechanical properties coupled with the resistance to stress-corrosion cracking and high strength characteristics common to the family of precipitation hardening steels. A wide range of mechanical properties can be realized by selecting various single cycle low temperature aging treatments. The alloy is double vacuum remelted (vacuum induction melted followed by vacuum arc remelting) to consistently assure low gas content, improved homogeneity and superior cleanliness. This alloy should be considered for applications requiring a combination of stress-corrosion resistance and high strength properties.
