Description
17-4PH AMS 5604 Plates / Sheets
17-4PH AMS 5604 Plates & Sheets is a Martensitic Precipitation Hardening Stainless Steel that provides an outstanding combination of High Strength and Hardness along with excellent corrosion resistance. 17-4PH Plates has good fabricating characteristics and can be age hardened by a single step, low temperature treatment. 17-4PH Plate & Sheet is a versatile material typically used in the Aerospace, Chemical, Petrochemical, Food Processing, Paper and General Metalworking Industries.
17-4PH Plates & Sheets AMS 5604 is a grade of martensitic, precipitation-hardening stainless steel with the additions of chromium, nickel, and copper. 17-4PH stainless steel has a valuable combination of high strength, good corrosion resistance, and toughness in both base metals and welds. This material provides excellent corrosion resistance (comparable to grade 304) for many medical, chemical, paper, and food processing industries, and it withstands corrosive attacks better than most hardenable stainless steels. These properties give designers the ability to add reliability to their products while simplifying fabrication and often reducing their costs. High strength is maintained to approximately 600°F (316°C). 17-4PH has good resistance to stress corrosion cracking at higher aging temperatures.
It is also known as Alloy 630, Type 17-4PH is the most widely used of all precipitation-hardening steels. Compared to other PH alloys, it requires a simple heat treatment to produce a wide range of properties, including its high strength. It has a slightly higher ferrite content than other PH grades, making it a bit more magnetic. To improve formability, heat treatments may be used before cold working.
We Textron Steel and Alloys are suppliers of 17-4PH Stainless Steel sheet and coil, in addition to stocking 17-4PH plate and round bar. In addition to stocking 17-4PH Round Bar further, we stock it in heat treated conditions and precision ground forms for medical and special applications. Our materials can be found in surgical instrumentation, aerospace applications, gas turbines, chemical processing equipment, oil refining equipment, food processing industries and more.
We can also arrange material that can comply with : W.NR. 1.4542, PWA-LCS, S1000 / S-SPEC-1, GE Aviation S-SPEC-35 AeDMS S-400, Rolls Royce SABRe Edition 2 and 3, DFARS Compliant, etc.
